It's not easy being green...

April 6, 2011

...that's what our house said today, because;
we've been wrapped AND roofed.

But wait, there's more;

Can you see what's hiding inside??

We're scheduled to have the plumbers rough in tomorrow & both plasterers & brickies next week.  Will have to race down early Saturday morning to clean the frame off a little before plastering.  Don't really want bits of builder crud trapped in our walls.

It's all moving incredibly fast right now.  We're blown away by the progress!!

Arrrgghhhhh...it's moving so fast now Tonia that the jump from being roofless on the weekend to tiled and wrapped today kind of freaked me out.

J, the tiles are so yummy I just wanna lick them. But where has all my sunlight gone? It's pitch black inside!!

Omg Reinsey I cant believe how fast they are moving, it's all going so quick!! The roof and gutter/facia look great all the painful waiting is paying off now!!

Spesh the green Shayne. Goes beautifully with surfmist :$
Was freaking out about the tiles coz I H.A.T.E. brown, but they're okay.
I feel guilty reporting progress with all of the shite you're going thru.

I drove around the corner and saw a big green house! Excellent progress....makes your head spin? Once on site Carlisle would have to be one of the best in scheduling trades. Love the front window treatment in the garage.

Yeah Janine, we both started work super early, left at 4, got stuck in garbage traffic (thompsons road is a little unpleasant at that time of night) and got "home" around 6. Luckily we had around 20 minutes of daylight to ooh and aah over the palace. Won't get down until early Saturday morning now. So busy with house going on market, working weekends and general fantasizing about new house!!

The anticipation of a site start but be killing and thrilling you!

Deb, I did the eyes closed thing coming around mountainview and I thought Loz had found religion the way he was speaking. How can you both complete (pointing and all) a roof and wrap in 3 days??
Bank finally released funds for first 2 stages today. Relief!

Reinsey I'm a brown lovin' girl through and through so you had me at Mocha Choc ;)

Don't ever feel guilty reporting on such FAB progress!! I don't begrudge anyone a speedy build - and you have had your fair share of delays so progress is well deserved :)

Thanks Ads, they were only around $800 to upgrade from the standard tiles. Well worth the money!!
Not 100% sold on the colour, but you know what forest ranger Loz is like!!!

We are still a few weeks away yet they have said 2-3 :/ I think Janine will have a head start on us but hopfully we wont be to far behind, it is the building permit we are waiting on! And we need to sign off the final plans, i should have thoes today!!

Forest Ranger Loz... hahaha... I'm with you, I am not a fan of brown at all, but I really like your roof. It looks good.

Saying that, I'll stick to Kava!

$800 bucks it pretty good. I like the Monier Horizon tiles that they are flogging on TV at the moment. I like the flat ones, but have been too scared to ask what they cost! After hearing that yours we're only $800 extra I might find out. Another variation on the way perhaps!

Thanks Reinsey, your build looks like it's going great - nice roof tiles, would have liked those but didn't want to destroy the budget too much :)

I'm being blown away by th espeed of our build, hopefully they'll rectify all the minor issues found in the report before our plastering starts next week, I think our place will be pretty much in the same state as yours if I look tonight :)

Hi there Alexandh, thanks for stopping by!
At this rate both of our builds will be at lock up by the end of next week!!
Perfect timing for us too as we'll now have to put our energies into keeping our current house spin and span for the run of open for inspections.
