Baby lock them doors..

April 30, 2011

We are officially locked out, but not yet at lock up, coz our corner stackers are in :)

Luckily we had tradies in working today so we were able to have a quick walk through.  We've got cornices;

 As with all tradies we've had working on our house, this guy was a ripper.  The corners joins are perfect.

 My fav place in the house - fireplace through to kitchen (which gets put in REAL soon!);

 Things are really cracking along outside too...

 Entry parapet - looking forward to seeing this rendered - in orange (Oriental Spice).
Extreme close up.  The bricks are growing on me, but very happy we're rendering the whole facade.

So far, so good.  The brickies were supposed to finish today.  My guess, with progress to date, is that there's another 3-4 days work til they're done, so by next weekend we should have both lock up and fix stages completed with only completion to go.  After waiting for a year to get the land, this speed is making my head spin!!!!

So true Romani. now that we've kicked over into May, I can say that our house will be finished NEXT month. Holy heck - it's come around VERY quickly!

Tonia, what's happening with the Kellyville Ridge Resort???

Thanks Newbuild. We're VERY VERY happy customers. Love your Barcelona chairs. Guess it's time we started thinking about furnishing this house of ours.

Brickies working at your place today! So couldn't have a closer look.

Aw...bummer! You could have just introduced yourself to our brickies. "Hi, I'm the owner's bridesmaid - I'm just gunna take a look". ???

Nice afternoon tea??

Poor Kylie was sick today, so we had to defer the morning tea, I assured her we will be down every weekend so have plenty of opportunities to catch up!

Kellyville Ridge resort is currently 'closed' and will re-open when the lazy ass tradies and ss get their act together! lol

Looks like you had a similar crew to ours working on your gyprock - those guys don't muck about and when I was talking to them they mentioned that there were definitely better work standards with Carlisle than some other builders.

If it's anything like our buld, you'll be seeing your cabinets going in and your render applied about now so you can start enjoying the flood of invoices ;)

AlexandH, so true! All of our trades have said similar things. Spesh about that builder that starts with a P.
Bring on the invoices I say!!
Which reminds me- we mustn't be fully bricked as yet- no invoice :)

did you extend your alfresco Reinsey?
I love the huge alfresco that you have & also your corner stacker doors.. :)

Hi Cuppycake,
Yes we added 2 metres to the alfresco, mainly to break up the shape of the house. We've got no idea how we're going to use it yet. Dining or lounge or dining????
Liking the corner stackers a lot!! Wish we could have afforded bi-folds, but something had to go to keep us anywhere near our budget.
