As we farewell the first month of 2011...

January 31, 2011

Thats our progress for January folks!!!

Our slab date has now been pushed back to February 26.  NOT a happy camper!

But on a more positive note, Loz starts his new job today.  Thank God.  We came very very close to having to cancel the build.  Please keep everything crossed for him that today goes well. xxx

How come they pushed it back? Weather?

I think the building process is sometimes sent to try us - don't let it squash your enthusiasm!

I reckon its how you bounce back from set backs that is the key - I am SURE you are a BOUNCER!!!!

Great to hear that Loz is back in the saddle!

Looking forward to more gems from the Destination 3977 Blog!

*shrugs* Tash!!!

I would have thought that as soon as the permit came through we would have been ready to rock and roll. Seems we've been pushed to the end of the queue rather than nudging everyone else back by a day.

What's happening with your permit / land settlement??

Hey there Jazz...
Yes I AM a bouncer - but my springs are getting a bit worn out! At least I'm well padded tho.

Do trampolines even have springs these days???

At least they have done the site scrape & the building period started on that day. Just make sure you count the rainy days so that if they claim extension due to weather then you can dispute it with them if you don't agree with the number of days.

Thats very annoying Reinsey, lets hope that the 26 Feb comes around quickly!!
Well the developer hasnt yet put the pegs in just yet so we are still waiting for this to happen so metricon can do the survey! And or the release from melbourne water for the permit (im hoping this will happening) when we title, so just playing the waiting game as well, as far as we know we should title any day now!!

Hmmm... Good point SSAZ. I've got a feeling they will try to dodge the site start date. We had a 2K contingency built into the contract in case of a Feb site start. Once the scrape occurred in December, I emailed them to make sure we were credited the 2K. I've now asked the question twice in writing and once verbally and still don't know if they'll refund this and if they do, does it come from the first progress payment (our co-contribution to the build) or the last.

Tash, I'm concerned about insurance on houses built on blocks with a flood overlay. I hope they do remove the overlay from the whole estate. And I'd love to find whoever was responsible for NOT removing it when the land was developed. They owe me 2 months of mortgage on a useless block of land!!!!!

Hope Loz had a good day!

Boo for the slab date being so far away - poor form if you ask me!!

I hope the month goes quickly - for all of us who are having our sanity tested in various ways every day thanks to this crazy building shenanigans!!

Congratulations and good luck to Loz - hope it was a good day.

Keep positive, no way can Carlisle charge you a February site start. You have portaloo and scrape, if permits are in place it is their responsibility to progress asap. I would be asking for the 2K as a variation to slab payment.
