A bit of decor-um please?

December 31, 2010

I'm getting VERY excited about our slab pour (in 21 days time but who's counting?)and really don't have any interest in anything other than that beautiful home which has been such a wonderful distraction obsession.

So this is where I'm heading (for today at least) in the decor department...

Although we don't have any wall niches to fill with plantation shutters, we'll be using them on all front facing windows (thanks for the discussion Deb & Tonia)with roller blinds similar to the master bedroom image on all other windows. We'll take Deb's advice and leave the corner stacker doors to the alfresco bare (and hope like anything that we don't have a 2 storey directly behind us).

I know... too much time on my hands. But there's only so many times you can make a 1.5hr round trip to see that nothing has changed on your block. Speaking of which, check out this post from one of our bloggy friends in NSW, Tonia. I'm still laughing about it, but she's one seriously committed builder. HILARIOUS!

Love the decor ideas Reinsey, may just pinch that Oriental Shimmer colour for my bedroom as a feature wall. Nice Neutral colours - love it.
Where is the orange?? Don't tell me you went down to the block today in 40 deg. heat - you are a mad woman!!

No we didn't go down - we spent a very pleasant afternoon in Gold Class at Knox watching The Tourist :)

Ya it's beautiful - and it's one of those special finished too so it kind of shines.
The orange will be there, but i'll try to keep it to things that can be changed (other than the splashback of course)(and if I could change that now I would) (along with a lot of other things mind you).
Stayed away from the block today but will def be there to wish it a new year tomorrow.
Avenue Year. Ha ha ha.

Hey, we too went to Gold Class - Tuesday night, compliments of our boys and saw the 'Tourist', loved it. I went to house this morning, no-one working and soooo hot so took myself off shopping for new bed linen. Some interesting news...perhaps I'm the last to know, Westfield Fountain Gate is about to go under major re-development with Myer opening in 15months. Always thought a major department store was lacking. I too like the Oriental Shimmer, think we both have interior walls in Beige Royal Quarter?

Ha ha - same with us - compliments of my bubby girl. I only just worked it out right at the end, but Loz reckons he was onto it about half way through. Easy to say in hindsight!!!!!
Myer - fantastic.
Oriental Shimmer fan club - sign up here!
Beige Royal - we originally picked full strength then chicken out. Wish we'd stuck with it coz one of the new Metricon displays in our estate has used it and it looks great.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure!!

We're the bright ones of the group Loz - I picked it in the train scene. John thought I was mad, raspberries to him.

Beige Royal - Will check out the display. I liked the half strength and decided to use on Splashback. Full/half/quarter's these painters must hate us!

Much earlier than me Deb - I was suspicious because the character was so boring I couldn't see any other reason to make him that much of a beige man :)

Not that there's anything wrong with beige.

Tonia - LOL!!

I LOVE the Oriental Shimmer in those pics - I love the texture it has on the Entry wall - I am definitely going to check it out for a feature wall.
I originally chose Beige Royal for all my walls then chickened out after using a sample pot - I've never seen it "in the flesh" en masse, so would like to..
I ended up going nice safe Antique White USA :) LOL.

I think I am going to wish my new insulation a Happy New Year today!!
