Through the looking glass

March 27, 2011

EVENTUALLY I picked up on Deb's hint that we'd better get our backsides down to the block to check out some unexpected progress;

We had NO idea that our front windows were going to be a single pane.  Love them!

Considering I took about 200 piccies today, I think I've been fairly restrained just putting 2 up here!!

Our most excellent framer told us that there was a bit of an issue with 2 of the trusses, so he's done all he can on the roof until new ones are delivered.  If these come on Monday, he thinks he'll be done and dusted by Wednesday, with gutter and fascia to follow straight on from that.

Excellent....I told you they were picture windows. The window in the garage will give great balance to the facade.

Were the sides in too?

Tonia, I was about to say I cant wait to see bricks and a finished house, but I'm taking that thought back. Its way more fun to see this evolve week by week. Torture. But fun.

Deb, I was blown away with those windows. Thought they'd be spit in half and only the top half would open. I'll have to get you over to wind them out though... :)

All 3 minor bedrooms are done and both bathrooms. The rooms with windows look smaller again now.

Looking great Reinsey you are going to need a bulk load of windex for the picture window:) What colour are your gutters and fascia?

Hi Sandrine,
Surfmist gutters & fascia with a Mocha Choc roof. Coz the house is quite wide and therefore the roof high, we wanted a contrast from all the brown (actually I don't like brown). Hope it looks okay!!

Had a quick look at your house from the car tonight Reinsey, the roof looks massive!!! Much more progress than when I last stood in your kitchen!
