Nap time...

March 10, 2011

Our slabby is having a little rest at the moment before its slumber is violated on Tuesday by the frame guys.
But our builder hasn't been napping... we've got a new SS, Luke, and we've got a lovely invoice to pay!!!!

Have a lovely looooong weekend everyone. xxx

I was wondering when the next exciting instalment was happening. I had a peek on Tuesday and could hardly get in to your street!

Raelene said...

I know!!! Our street is a mix of total tradey intimidation and complete PERVE!!! *drools*

Sweet dreams slabby!

Roll on Tuesday, the next month will bring a total transformation and the shell of your home. Very lucky to have all your street finishing around the same time....no more construction trucks.

Scary Deb. So far I like the collies...grey! Then the frame will look alright. But once the roof tiles & bricks start going up I'll stress like a crazy woman!! TG for render!!!

Tonia said...

Sleep tight...don't let deb's bugs bite...u'll need lots of strength for the frame :)

Bring on nap violation! LOL!

No long weekend here - boo!!

Raelene said...

Ha-I just did a Shayne! Collies is tired speak for colours!!

Debra said...

Hey Tonia - I'm still trying to work out 'deb's bugs bite'!!

Sweet colours dreaming Reinsey.

So stressed this past week I ate Tonia's whole box of chocolates, god they were good....that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Trenches, phones, Inspection Reports etc.....aaaarrrrgh!!

Raelene said...

A Debs bug; gorgeous, tiny, talkative creature usually found sweeping out building sites!!

Tonia said...

haha Reinsey you took the words right out of my mouth! Perfect explanation lol

mmm speaking of choccies deb....might need to raid my fridge now...ciao!!

Debra said...

I can be hired for sweeping in exchange for choccies!!

Raelene said...

There'll be a Cadbury's truck backing up to your new front door in about 45 minutes Deb!!!

Debra said...

Will that be the crooked door?

Janine K said...

I still have Tonia's box of choccies - unopened - they are no threat until they are open!

Debra said...

Janine, brownie points for you, clearly your not stressed enough!! and your right, I was fine until 'someone else' I live with opened them.

Raelene said...

Could the truck still get to your laundry door? No fences yet?? Word from Carlisle??

Raelene said...

Great minds Janine. I've stared that box down so many times. It just stares back at me saying "go on...you know you want me". The 'someone else' that shares the bed is yet to find them, therefore, they remain, tempting, tantalising, toniaificent.

Debra said...

Sounds like you two have kept a 'shrine' to Tonia - I just really enjoyed her.

Fences??? just had a call from ACE, starting this morning. Guy booked for job has been sick all week, sending another. I was concerend about the timber on-site especially with long weekend. Fences not bothering us but feel for the neighbour.

Spoke to Carlisle yesterday - will be next week before Construction Manager and whoever else is required can meet on-site - blame game?? We have sternly voiced our disappointment since hardly a day has passed without someone on-site and will probably be two weeks since PCI before Carlisle inform us of their intentions, followed by rectification work. We are assured all will be taken care of and documented in a letter to us. We're tempted to hit them with the Independent Inspectors fee. Also, laying down the law re trades in and out of finished house - mud, use of toilets etc....not impressed.

Raelene said...

Yep - I'm a worshiper. Will "Tonia" be an option under the religion section of this year's Census??

Fences - that's ACE news!

Ummm...using the toilets? Seriously? Someone on the homeone forum had PD replace their toilets coz tradies were using them. Worth a try!

Debra said...

With outside loo gone can handle someone using toilets - just not muddy boots/clothes to get there i.e. bricklayer..trades don't respect another's work. Our wonderful painter will be so PO.

Raelene said...

Send them around to the throne on Fieldstone if they really can't hang on!
Reckon that new estates should provide an amenities block for tradies. Imagine the savings on portaloo's? Would put Kenny out of business tho!

Debra said...

Carlisle have a couple of houses under construction in our street. Just scraped two doors up and same SS. I will make a point...really the least of our worries, all a snowball affect.

Raelene said...

2 houses up - as in towards Thompson's Road? Any idea which house it will be?

The good thing about snowballs is they melt :)

Debra said...

Yes, next to moved in neighbour...I believe Riverton.
Across road two more Carlisle's one under construction (don't know name) and empty block next to that. Shouldn't be any trouble finding a SS!!

Raelene said...

Wonder if all the Carlisles underway in our estate have our SS, Luke?

Debra said...

My SS - Gary told me he has the new scrape in Faringdon. Across the road is SS, Luke. Two in Crestway and Ezzmay, Gary. Double Storey in Mountainview and I've just noticed another single in Mountainview has popped up too!!

I love only coming down once a week. We really get a surprise (at everyone elses progress) every visit.
Have a tournament on all weekend but will try to quietly slip away to make sure our slabby is still there!!

Debra said...

We'll be around sometime. Fences started today, called by on way to work...man was cementing posts. Wonder how much he achieved, possibly finish over weekend? Happy for my neighbour.

Janine K said...

Reinsey, We visited today, your slab is still there!!! Noticed they have scraped the block at the side which will be near your alfresco, fingers crossed it wont be 2 storey or else your skinny dipping days will be over!!!

Deb, David, Megan & I had another look around your house (from the outside of course) today, looks great. I see what you mean about tradesmen, footprints you can see all the way from the front to the back doors - how rude - they should leave a damp mop there and they should mop the footprints out on their way out!! HA HA, I know I'm dreaming.

Raelene said...

The final block on our road scraped... It's busier than Bourke Street down there. Wonder what this one will be???
Poor Deb :(
Muddy footprints on those beautiful tiles :(

This makes comment no 32 on this post, must be something of a record I think. Have had another exciting Saturday night - ironing and a dvd. Wont it be nice to pop around and have a drink or two with the neighbours on these balmy summer nights next year!!

Raelene said...

Ha ha ha...we do that too! "this time next year we'll be ......"
Those dots signify a new life for us. Can't wait to live it!

Debra said...

Reinsey - if it is two storey and your skinny dipping just wave and enjoy those balmy nights; that's their problem. Full steam ahead for framing this week.

Janine - house is looking great, generally minor touchup/defects plus re-rendering required. Its the rectification of the laundry door that has us concerned with more than muddy boots!

Raelene said...

That's something you'd only want to see once...so if it is a double and we're "sprung" it's their problem!!! (bet your glad you didn't buy that block in fieldstone now)
How can we cheer you up Deb????

Debra said...

Yeah, their problem and scarred for life!!

I'll be happier once Carlisle inform us of intentions....more annoyed that all contact since PCI has been instigated by us. Home Tuesday, Wednesday so will be on the warpath.

Janine K said...

Maybe you need a coffee moment tomorrow Deb you can vent to me!

Debra said...

I would love to Janine but my mother is arriving tomorrow for two days....she will be enough to cope with. I may yet take up drinking.
Maybe next week?

Debra said...

Reinsey, just came from house....you have timber for frame sitting on slab!!!!!!!

Raelene said...

Oh Deb - THANK YOU for the update. We really must be getting framed tomorrow.
The frame is a-coming, oh yeah
The frame is a-coming, oh yeah
The frame is a-coming, the frame is a-coming.....

Janine K said...

No worries Deb, good luck with mum, you really dont need any more stress at this point in time.
I now can't imagine what you would be like if you took up drinking-could be scary!!

Debra said...

Reinsey - Men building FRAME on your slab!
