Last weekend we found ourselves over at the new Saltwater Coast display village in Point Cook and discovered a real life example of a sea elephant glass splashback. Not only that, it was paired with Laminex "Wenge" (snap), "White" (double snap), Blackbutt floors (yep, snap again), Osprey waterfall edge island bench too! I love it, love it, love it!!!!!
And I'm totally
borrowing stealing this idea; they've painted the entire kitchen alcove in the same tone to match. Clever way to blend a darker splashback without making the kitchen look like a patchwork quilt!
If anyone's interested, the builder is MainVue, a division of Henley. Their two displays were really well done, and I'll post some more of their ideas another time.

How lucky were you to find this....gorgeous, no more sleepless nights. I see a few visits to MainVue for you.
Phew at long last one happy girl - hate to say it but I told you so - stop worrying and just enjoy the experience. We are all individuals and will have individual houses - would be boring if they were all the same.
Ladies - I guarantee I will not cease the stressing until all of those little selections are unfolded on Fieldstone Crescent!!
I'm with you Reinsey - i cant stop worrying about my selections until I see them all with my own eyes - not long now.. I hope ;) LOL
Love that paint idea - its a fantastic way to tie in the splashback!!
I can relate to that!!!
You'd have to be completely un-stressed now, wouldn't you Deb? Your house looks perfect!!
Almost there....Render next colours aaarrgghhh!
Colours for feature walls, driveway, alfresco etc....never ends. Wasn't too unstressed when I did a hissy fit with SS other day - he called a little wary this morning, precious!
Im a stress head too! I won't sleep until I see my kitchen...its really freaking me out cos I don't think matt white will look good now :( I wish I could change it..would make my life much easier!
Alcove looks great in the darker colour btw!
Also Reinsey....did you go to the Metricon display at Point Cook? My fairhaven is there!!!!!! lol
Giggle - don't think I would have liked to have been on the receiving end of your hissy fit Deb! In here my boys refer to my little melt downs as "staring at the business end of a tantrum".
Tonia, WHY oh WHY, being stress heads as we all are, would we decide to BUILD a house when we could just avoid all of this and buy one ready made and hassle free??????????
haha cos we are control freaks and need everything to be PERFECT!!
