Nope, we haven't purchased a new commodore, we have a Site Supervisor, Rod, and he's going to be brilliant, I can just tell :)
He intends to call every Thursday afternoon with an update of the past week's progress and where we're heading next. He may regret this, but he's okay with us calling him every day if we feel the need, and he'll be happy to put our detail oriented minds at ease.
I was actually expecting a gruff, blokey bloke who likes to keep clients as far away as possible. But he's come across as enthusiastic and totally hands on with us.
.....
The much anticipated slab party will have to be postponed until Monday 24th (maybe even later if the rain keeps on doing it's thing), but we've waited 12 months already, so what's another 4 sleeps??
.....
Carlisle have allowed us to change our splashback colour (don't yell at me Deb) AND after a fair few emails, they've agreed to amend the height of the double doors into the theatre from standard 2040mm to 2340mm in line with the rest of the house per our original request (we didn't notice the reduced height on final plans).
So it's back to Spectra tomorrow morning to pick a new splashback colour. Any suggestions....??

Congrats!
Red is a great colour Splash Back!
so lucky that you can change your splashback! I wanted to change ours but Metricon won't allow any more changes!!!! Grrrrrrr!
Can't go with orange or browns..Id say a nice frosted white or light grey will look nice with your colour scheme! You don't want it to be too dramatic and then regret it later!
So pleased for you!!!! I would recommend a nice neutral beige, that way you can dress up your room with ORANGE accessories, much easier to change if you get sick of them. Keep me posted on the updated slab party date, is that fish & chip shop open already??
Excellent - I know of Rod, he is SS on huge two storey being constructed opposite Luke plus friends recently finished with him; all give glowing reports. Pleased Carlisle are allowing you to change colour on the splashback - you were obviously hyperventilating and in my opinion the client must be happy. Ditto with the taller doors. Suggest a colour, I wouldn't be game! What colour if any are the perspex overheads? Not surprised slab delayed; might stop raining by then. I shall pm you our 'discussion' with Carlisle, too long winded.
Love your red splash back Jazz, but don't think I'm brave enough!!!
Too true Tonia - we're thinking of staying pretty neutral and adding portable colour as Janine suggests. Whats with these builders telling us we can't change our minds?? Don't they know we're female? It's what we do!!!
Spot on the money there Janine. I'm thinking a latte colour or even jasper. It's not a huge splash back, as we have a feature window in it (with Jasper frame).
I gate-crashed the Eve thread the other day and they were talking about how good their new Fish and Chippy is. I can't think of anything better on slab night than to share F&C with our new neighbours on our future alfresco!!!
Deb, that makes me hap hap happy that Rod is a gun. He sounds like a top guy! Lets hope he builds a beautiful house :)
Oh shock horror you blog crasher you!!! Besides, its good to get the goss from others who try before we buy - now you gotta find where the nearest decent coffee shop is, have tried the one at Eden Rise - yuck!!
Everything seens to be moving along quite well Reinsey a few days delay on your slab will fly past im sure :)
Atm we have a latte colour (paris) as our splash back but i seem to be having cold feet about every choice of ours atm, i love the frosted white so pretty and neutral :) Im glad they are letting you change it!! Im glad my colour lady is letting me change things i have change a few since our appt opps ;) yesterday i changed the colour of our windows from black to silver :) Im really bad at this making decisions thing!!
Ahh Tash - you sound just like me!!! There's so many options and so many gorgeous homes to borrow ideas from. And no matter how many times you look through the colour schedule, there always seems to be something that doesn't look quite right.
I think latte splash backs look gorgeous, but if you've gone for silver windows and have those lovely white tiles on the floors, frosted white would look lovely and fresh. Have you got some colour in your benchtop of cupboards tho? Too much white = hospital imo!
